Make your own Chicken Pot Pie totally from scratch with this simple recipe. No canned condesned soups or boxed biscuit mixes in this one! #homemadepotpie #chickenpotpie

Recipe for Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • Veggies frozen or canned
  • 1 cup Cream of Chicken Soup not the dried mix but made with the liquid
  • Chicken chopped and cooked
  • Biscuit mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cheese

Instructions

  1. If you haven't already, start by using the Cream of Soup Mix to make the liquid soup.

  2. Then, mix the 1/2 cup milk and the egg with 1 cup of the baking mix that I also used for the Cheeseburger Bake. (If you have my book, Little House Living, you can use the Baking Mix recipe found in there instead.)
  3. For this particular pot pie, I used green beans, corn, and broccoli but you can use any veggies you have on hand.
  4. Mix the chicken, veggies, and cream soup together in a bowl. I didn't measure my ingredients because it's easiest just to use what you have on hand. If you have more chicken, use that. No chicken and lots of veggies? Go with a veggie Pot Pie.
  5. Next, pour into a pie plate.
  6. Top with the biscuit mixture.Bake at 400F for about 30 minutes or until the crust is nice and brown.
  7. Enjoy!
